The YZF-R1 and YZF-R6 are equipped with under cowls that are based on the image of a diffuser, to give them the best form for aero-management. These are not cowls for simply enclosing the engine, but forms composed of blade surfaces that actively control airflow. This spirit has been directly inherited by the >> Read More

2012 New Ducati Superbike 1199 To Be Launched

Ever since we heard about the new 2012 Ducati Superbike, we’ve been marking the days until we could see the v-twin sex machine in the flesh.

There’s no denying that the specs being banded about on the new Superquadrata motor are impressive, as the new bike is expected to make up to 20hp more than the current Superbike 1198 (though peak performance numbers only tell one side of the story). Also intriguing is the MotoGP-derived stressed-airbox chassis arrangement, which finally does away with the iconic trellis chassis, though has caused some problems for Valentino Rossi on his move to Ducati Corse.

DUCATI’S 2012 superbike can’t really be described as ‘secret’ any more having already graced the front pages of bike magazines worldwide in various states of camouflage. But it’s still looking like it will be the most interesting new model to be launched later this year and the latest shots reveal a few more details.

Just last month we got our first look at the new Superbike prototype, as Ducati leaked first a Supersport spec >> Read More

As can be seen here, the new 848 Streetfighter’s rolling chassis is based heavily on that of its bigger brother although suspension, brakes and other cycle parts are >> Read More

New 2012 Honda Fireblade Superbike

These are the first photos of Honda’s 2012 Fireblade. Besides the new angular styling, the bike has Big Piston Forks, new rear suspension, new clocks and lightweight wheels.

Those hoping for a V4 will be disappointed, as the engine appears almost identical to this year’s model. Also, there are no signs of any traction control – the switchgear has no extra buttons and the new dash has nothing to indicate there are any S1000RR-rivalling electronics.

The bike in the photos does not have any wheel speed sensor rings, so it seems Honda will continue to give customers the option to do without ABS.

The photos were posted on Honda’s Hong Kong Facebook page, but have now been taken down.

More news as we get it.
